§ 74-39. Excavations, etc.; permit.
(a)
No person shall remove, dig, excavate, bore under, trench, plow or destroy any portion of any sidewalk, public way, right-of-way and/or road, for any purpose other than for emergency utility repairs or laying water mains, storm drains or sanitary sewer under the supervision and control of the city, without first obtaining a permit from the city.
(b)
Permits shall be applied for not less than 72 hours, not including weekends and/or holidays, before any excavation is scheduled to begin. The cost of obtaining a permit shall be as set forth in the schedule of fees and charges.
(c)
Permits can be obtained from the public works department and/or the city designee.
